With Pétrus and La Fleur as neighbours it’s clear La Fleur-Pétrus occupies some of Pomerol’s finest terroir. A pretty nose, redolent of violets and rose, the palate opens on notes of morello cherries with a subtle graphite mineral core before unfurling to reveal mouth-coating tannins with extra textural richness derived from a touch of spicy oak on the long savoury finish.
