2012 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Cru Classé Pessac-Léognan

2012 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Cru Classé Pessac-Léognan

One of the few crus classés where the owner actually lives on-site, Domaine de Chevalier is renowned for its white, although its red is becoming increasingly well-known also. This is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Fresh on the nose, with dark fruits and a touch of spice. The palate is dense, dark fruit focussed, but with a red currant acidity that gives lift and poise to the wine. Supple, elegant and delicious; a great Pessac.
