2011 Château Pavie-Macquin, Grand Cru Classé St-Emilion

2011 Château Pavie-Macquin, Grand Cru Classé St-Emilion

The manager of Château Pavie-Macquin, Nicolas Thienpont has a great love and respect for terroir and strives to achieve elegance and power from this in the wines.
For 2011 the proportions of varieties are 85% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, giving a wine with a stunning powerful nose of wild heather and rosemary. On the palate there are sweet notes of plum and dark cherry, and then the tannins flow through with a wonderful silky satin texture. A complex and truly elegant wine.
