2008 Château Cheval-Blanc, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A) St-Emilion

2008 Château Cheval-Blanc, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A) St-Emilion

A blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc, there is a creamy, milk-chocolate nuance to the scented berry fruit on the nose. On the palate it exudes considerable refinement, with an elegant density. Silky, well-expressed tannins serve to create a wine of pleasing drive, yet with remarkable harmony. A wine of elegance and substance, there is a sense of restraint about Cheval in this vintage, though the elegant proportion and seamless style point towards the classic. Very fine. Robert Parker: 95-97
