2008 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, Cru Classé St-Julien

2008 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, Cru Classé St-Julien

Inky and opaque in the glass, offering scented aromas of ripe berry fruit, all fragrant cassis, due to the 85% Cabernet Sauvignon component. Such an unforced style, with cool, ripe, black fruit allied to a layered sense of depth. A beautifully-defined Ducru that exhibits a fine, fresh vein of acidity and sublime silken tannins. Seamless in texture, exerting a very fine grip, this impressive St.Julien is among the best of the appellation and the Médoc. Classically refined, beautifully complete revealing a long-driven finish. Robert Parker: 96-98
