2007 Château Palmer, Cru Classé Margaux

2007 Château Palmer, Cru Classé Margaux

The undoubted success of Palmer in 2007 is solely due to the diligence and hard work in both the vineyards and cellar. The vines were painstakingly leaf thinned around the clusters in June to maximise both the sunshine and aeration. The deep colour in the glass leads to a nose of blackberry and currant allied to a touch of vanilla from the oak. Château Palmer is famed for its restraint and in 2007 the tannins are very refined although they do add some structure. Finishes on a savoury note and definitely one of the vintage’s successes.
