Château Cos d’Estournel’s second wine comprises 45% of the total harvest of the estate and is a 50/50 Cabernet Sauvignon/ Merlot blend that is given 40% new oak élévage. The bouquet is marked by minerality, together with the stone fruits so classic of the St Estèphe appellation. Smoky oak and graphite notes meld with black cherry flavours. As with the grand vin, it displays a more elegant approach than in some recent vintages.
