2004 Château Teynac, St-Julien
A less well-known château, Teynac has delivered a surprising wine in 2004, that's perfect for enjoying now. There's still purity of blackcurrant fruit, but with notes of clove, forest floor and pencil shavings adding complexity and intensity. Grippy tannins on the finish complete the picture of a classic drinking claret. For a wine of this price, of this age, this is excellent.
