Les Ormes de Pez has the vast experience and expertise of the Lynch-Bages team to call upon. Nearly opaque in the glass with intense, dark-cherry fruit on the nose. There is vibrance and ripeness in spades on the palate. Fairly full but nowhere near heady or cumbersome, just layer upon layer of ripe, black fruit with a warm toasty note from new oak. Freshness runs throughout. A driven and focused st-estèphe at a very affordable level. Interestingly just 30% new oak is used at Les Ormes resulting in an appealing fruit-driven style that we expect to develop as a bordeaux to drink in the mid-term.
