Château Pichon-Longueville (Baron) is a property that has seen immense improvements in the quality of its wines from the early 1990s and most particularly since 2000. Substantial investment and expert management, both under Jean-Michel Cazes (of Lynch Bages fame) and more recently under Christian Seely, have led to this property rivalling and in some cases surpassing its sister property of Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. Opaque and dense with expressive, deep berry characters on the nose. There is lovely weight of fruit on the palate and a very nicely balanced sense of proportion. This displays a glamorous lusciousness and opulence. A Pauillac of the highest quality. Robert Parker Score: 93 points
