2004 Château Brane-Cantenac, Cru Classé Margaux

2004 Château Brane-Cantenac, Cru Classé Margaux

Amiable proprietor Henri Lurton has every reason to be satisfied with the 2004 vintage. A gentle, refined wine, 2004 Brane-Cantenac exhibits wonderful balance. A subtle style that impresses with finesse rather than volume. Lively, vibrant, nothing forced and distinctly mineral on the finish, with silky tannins simply adding to the sensation of elegance. An undoubted success and a stark contrast to more modern interpretations. The 1986 and the 1959 vintages from this illustrious château bear witness to its ageing potential – both sampled over dinner at the Château.
