The Chateau, named after some very old elm trees which are no longer standing, dates back to the eighteenth century. The 35-hectare vineyard is located around the hamlet of Pez and is divided into two main plots, in the centre and to the north of the commune of Saint-Estephe. Les Ormes de Pez has very homogeneous soil (a clay gravel mixture typical of Saint-Estephe) and many of the vines are quite old. 15 months in oak barrels....said to be one of the finest wines from Les-Ormes-de-Pez for some time.
