More about Piero Busso

THEY’RE AS DELIGHTFUL A FAMILY AS YOU’D HOPE TO MEET, WITH CHARM THAT SEEMS TO RUB OFF ONTO THEIR WINES

Started in 1953, Piero Busso remains a family affair. Piero remains in charge, but he’s joined in the winery by his son Pierguido, his wife Lucia, and daughter Emanuela.

They’re as delightful a family as you’d hope to meet, with charm that seems to rub off onto their wines.

With holdings in some of Barbaresco’s best sites, the family treat each vineyard slightly differently, with every tiny parcel of vines vinified separately and then aged according to its own characteristics. This is super-careful winemaking, but the results are always spectacular.

They’re searching for every vineyard and every wine to be as recognisable and individual as possible. And this approach works wonders, without following fads or trends. They’re some of the most individual, expressive wines we’ve discovered.
