Inspired by the ambition to make the best wines in the world, Baron Philippe de Rothschild is a joint stock corporation in pursuit of excellence. It all started in 1853, when Nathaniel Rothschild moved to Bordeaux, bought, and renamed the first Rothschild estate, Chateau Mouton Rothschild. The estate grew in 1922 when its namesake, Baron Phillipe took over, revolutionising the chateau and leaving a lasting legacy on the estate and its reputation. A succession of acquisitions and partnerships have punctuated their timeline over the subsequent years. Resulting in a portfolio of exceptional estates across Bordeaux’s first and fifth classified growths, Chilean vineyards, and Californian appellations. With a catalogue of estates and brands across the globe, Rothschild produce an extensive array of wines including Merlots, Pinot Noirs and Cabernet Sauvignons.
