We love the way some new world wineries don’t beat around the bush with their names. How could this Hawke’s Bay vineyard, established in 1998 by US entrepreneur Terry Peabody, be called anything other than ‘Craggy Range’? Its pristine terraces sit beneath the spectacular Te Mata Peak in one of New Zealand’s premium wine growing regions, where the soils produce high quality reds and whites. Craggy Range Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc are fruity and full of texture, elegance and balance. Craggy Range was crowned ‘New World Winery of the Year’ in 2014 by Wine Enthusiast magazine and is certainly one to watch.
