The New Penfolds Bin Release

Rich and textured, Bin 28 provides masses of drinking pleasure when it's young, but can also develop savoury notes with time in bottle. This has broad, mouth coating tannins and rich dark chocolate, vanilla and coconut flavours building into a smooth, long finish.

Always one of our favourite from the Penfolds stable, Bin 128 is known for its silky, elegant and restrained style, being from the cooler climate of Coonawarra. Bramble-like fruit mixes with savoury, gamey, leathery complexity, and some herbal notes add to this wine’s fresh style. There's more structure here than you might expect and it rewards cellaring.

Dubbed the ‘baby Grange’, this blend of Cabernet and Shiraz creates a massive complexity of dark fruit flavours, with large oak barrels adding delicate sweet spice flavours. Mouthwatering acidity and the tannins are approachable and silky. The perfect way to enjoy what makes Penfolds so celebrated.

A real gem in the Penfolds Bin range, Bin 150 is a sub-regional expression of Shiraz from the ancient soils of Marananga in the Barossa Valley. It's full of aromatic, brambly fruit with softer damson notes, alongside woody spice and juniper. A brooding wine with plenty of structure at this early stage. A mix of new and old oak, French and American barrels of differing sizes all contribute to the wine’s spicy complexity.

A relative bargain put next to its ‘big brother’ Bin 707, the 407 is a classic new world Cabernet Sauvignon. Fresh and intense blackcurrant fruit, blackcurrant leaf and a slight hint of eucalypt. Equally classic Cabernet tannins provide structure and texture but the wine can provide plenty of enjoyment now before ageing for a further 20 years.
