South Africa: New releases

South Africa remains an exciting place for wine lovers, with historic estates making some of their best wines yet, as well as young winemakers pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Our buyer, Robbie, spent 12 days in the Cape in August, tasting the latest releases, and seeking out new gems. Many are made in tiny quantities, and we’ve just a handful of cases available. So we encourage you to move with haste to secure them.

The 2021 Salt River Sauvignon Blanc is an incredible bottle of wine for the price. There's so much texture and tension here, alongside super-exuberant fruit, and a long and savoury finish. Utterly delicious, it will continue to improve in the bottle. If you can keep your hands off it.
