On Thursday 14th January, we held our Burgundy 2008 En Primeur tasting at Glaziers Hall in London. With over 100 wines to taste from more than 30 domaines, this was a great opportunity for our customers to assess the new vintage.
Customers were able to glean first-hand information from the many growers who made the journey from France to talk about their wines. We were delighted to be able to welcome, among others, Michel Gros, Philippe Colin, Manou Humbert, Patrick Javillier, Bruno Colin and Etienne Grivot.
Simon Larkin MW, Head of Fine Wine Trading and part of the Buying Team, and Nick Dagley, Head of Buying, gave a short introduction to the 2008 vintage and the style of the wines. They were joined by Nicolas Potel, who agreed to introduce his new venture of Maison Roche de Bellene, the wines from which we are pleased to be able to offer in this vintage.
The tasting was a great success and we would like to extend our gratitude to all the growers and guests, who contributed to making it such a memorable and enjoyable evening.
