Buying Duty Paid
Wines sold duty paid are invoiced inclusive of UK duty and VAT charges.
Why buy Duty Paid?
- All wines for immediate delivery must be purchased inclusive of duty and VAT
- Portfolio Service customers may also purchase and store their wines held in the UK as duty paid. This safeguards against any future rises in duty and VAT.
What will I pay?
Wines offered for immediate delivery must bear duty and VAT charges, and these are built into the quoted price.
Such purchases are described as “duty paid” in our terms. Since duty and VAT are levied at the same time, where prices are shown as “including VAT”, duty is also included.
We also recommend that, if you wish to sell your wines at a later date, they should be cellared in bond.
