Tasted no less than five times during April and impressive on every occasion. A wine that portrays the Margaux terroir ‘to the letter’ with its floral character, vibrance and finesse. Finely honed and precise with carefully handled vinification that avoids over-extraction and manipulation. Since acquiring the estate in 1989, Hubert Perrado has renovated the château and invested in the vineyard with resulting improvement and consistency in the property’s wines. A delicious and expressive 2005 that marries concentration with finesse. One of the leading crus bourgeois of the 2005 vintage.

2004 Château Ferrière, Cru Classé Margaux

Vibrant in the glass, with restrained but enticing aromas of plum and berry fruit on the
nose. The palate is gentle and fragrant, with luscious damson and cherry characters
and a hint of spice adding interest. The tannins are fine and supple, and a lift of acidity
lends an attractive freshness. Classic claret from a classic vintage.

Deep ruby/purple, Angludet 2001 packs a punch - its curranty fruit is open and mouthfilling. Quite weighty and possessing a core and substance. A wine to please the many regular followers of the Sichel family's Margaux property.

Tasted several times and impressive at each showing – best of all when tasted with proprietor Claire Villars-Lurton. Beautifully fresh floral fruit on the nose and the palate where grip and tannins provide the ideal structure. A real winner.

2003 Château d'Angludet, Cru Bourgeois Margaux

At yields of just 25hl/ha Ben Sichel could be excused for thinking he possibly had the lowest yields in the district. This is an incredible example revealing the depth of the 2003 vintage – that a non-classified property can produce such a wine, infinitely above its rank stands testament to this. Deep, brilliant purple colour, again a lovely violet aroma, with sweet blackcurrant nuances too. There is a simply glorious sense of volume, long and rich with a sweet length at the end. A fine d’Angludet.

2002 Château d'Angludet, Cru Bourgeois Margaux

One of the favourites of the UK market and always a reliable purchase in all but the weakest of vintages, the 2002 is an elegant wine with pure cassis and dark fruit characters, and a herbaceous currant leaf note. Tannins are supple and well integrated into the fruit. This mid-weight Angludet has a fresh, mineral finish and balance, promising a bright future.

Elegant on the nose, with rich cassis fruit and notes of liquorice. On the palate, this is quite refined, with notes of blackcurrant and woodsmoke. Complex and appealing.
