Deep intense purple colour, with a striking aroma of violets. On the palate this is a very rounded wine, with intense power and structure, supported by robust tannins and a finish characterised by fleshy Cabernet fruit flavours. An excellent example of Château Latour. 12- 25
This has an enticing medium-weight nose of fresh redcurrant and plum notes with a cool herbaceous edge. On the palate the wine has lovely weight with a sweet currant and berry fruit character. The oak adds a creamy layer to the fruit but is well integrated as are the fine sturdy tannins. This is a super wine for the vintage and one that will provide much enjoyment in the future.
Tasted in separate lots that will eventually be assembled into a final blend by the talented winemaker, Benjamin Leroux. A trial blend shows bright purple in the glass and reveals intense, concentrated ripe fruit characters, the hallmark of the vintage. This is a lovely rich pommard, supported by classically-weighted fine, ripe tannins.
Expressive on the nose, with notes of loganberry, spice and mocha. On the palate, this is mouthfilling and robust, with rich, almost opulent fruit, and ripe tannins. Not at all extracted, this has a great sense of purity and elegance. Very long on the finish.
