Duty paid and
Under bond wines?
As ever, Syrah seems to play a more serious role here and the wine takes time to get into its stride. Fragrant and pure, with a blueberry-compote note on the nose. The palate exudes ample, soft-skinned berry fruit and is quite lifted in style, with herby, garrigue notes. Tapering in on the finish, this elegant style needs more patience than the Saint-Roch, with assertive mineral notes on the finish.
Wild fruits on the nose, dusky mulberry, blueberry too. The palate is vibrant with plenty of restrained yet bright red fruits. Comparatively forward in style, easier to appreciate than many young wines of this impressive domaine. The tannins tighten to the finish which is dominated by gently spicy, berry fruits and notes of aromatic provencal herbs.
