2000 Volcanic Hill, Diamond Creek, Napa

2000 Volcanic Hill, Diamond Creek, Napa

The eight acres of south-facing vineyards are Diamond Creek’s warmest site. The soil type is described as grey fluffy volcanic ash deposited from the eruption of Mount Konocti eight million years ago. Volcanic Hills is considered the longest lived of the Estate’s wines, and therefore the least accessible when young, but with age the wine develops an extraordinary plummy sweetness.
