Region Details
Encompassing the Hunter Valley and the emerging Orange district, New South Wales has been at the forefront of the modern era of Australian wine. Hunter Valley is home to elegant Shiraz and Chardonnay, and is celebrated for its amazingly long-lived Semillons. In the Hunter in particular, vintages are sometimes blighted by cloud and rain at harvest owing to maritime climatic influences.
