The final blend here is 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 15% Mourvedre and this must surely remain one of the great bargains of Châteauneuf. Another great Cristia, which has clearly benefitted from the inclusion of the fruit normally destined for the Vieilles Vignes and Renaissance cuvées. The colour is deep, dark, purple-black. The nose displays rich, ripe black cherry and olive aromas together with bitter chocolate notes. Glossy, concentrated and dark-fruited, with an almost chewy, dense texture. A fine balance of fruit focus and structural weight.
