2006 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Tradition, Pierre Usseglio

A refined, polished style, as is to be expected from this Domaine. The nose reveals notes of scented red cherry, garrigue and lavender. Texturally exquisite. Round and glossy with damson fruit, liquorice and peppery spices to the fore. This is not a heady Châteauneuf, but fresh, poised and welcoming, revealing sweet, round, fine-grained tannins, the hallmarks of 2006.
