2005 Chablis Grand Cru Blanchots, Domaine Race
Initially closed and restrained, the scents and flavours developed with a vigorous swirl of the glass. There is splendid breadth and clarity of flavour in this Blanchots, a steep, south-east facing hillside in the narrow valley leading to the village of Fyé. Exquisitely pristine with pure citrus, flint and wet-stone notes. There is plenty of ripe fruit in evidence with zesty acidity. This will appeal to Chablis devotees who prefer fruit driven examples of the genre.
