2005 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos, Domaine Pinson
The tank aged proportion of what will be the final blend displays explosive, citrus, tropical fruit scents and flavours. I was advised that a first assemblage had taken place and that 15% of this cuvée was in fact aged in wood - however one wouldn't know it, so intense is the fruit and freshness that is displayed. I also tasted from new wood, and at this stage oak scents and flavours dominate. The potential for this cuvée when the wine is blended and when given time in bottle is outstanding. This is Chablis with structure and staying power
