2000 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros, William Fèvre

2000 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros, William Fèvre

The chablis of William Fèvre should be familiar to many of you as we included a premier cru in the previous offer. Following numerous comments from members we are pleased to offer a limited quantity of grand cru from what is sure to go down in history as one of the great chablis vintages. Often regarded as Chablis' finest estate, the wines of William Fèvre are crafted by Didier Ségurier. With perhaps the largest grand cru vineyard holding of any Chablis producer at his disposal and a relentless drive towards quality, from hand harvesting to meticulous sorting and low yields, it is little wonder that the wines of this domaine have caused such a stir in 2000. Of a brilliant lime yellow colour, this wine is beautifully vibrant with aromas of honeyed citrus. On the palate the wine is broad and full with an outstandingly concentrated mineral feel to it. This has superb weight and ripeness with a classically steely mineral finish. Very long indeed and will age superbly.
