2011 Château St-Pierre, Cru Classé St-Julien

The vines from this château are very old indeed and help to give the wine excellent structure and its deep dark rich colour. With powerful aromas of woodsmoke, chocolate and cherry, this has quite a brooding nose with a truffle note right on the end. Plush and polished, rich dark berries with chocolate cream unfold in layers on the palate, giving the body of the wine a real softness. Nicely rounded and all together very pleasing.
