Another strong showing from the Mouton stable, although initially a little reticent on the nose with a little coaxing it begins to show aromas of cassis with a classic hint of Pauillac pencil shavings. This is a particularly concentrated style for d’Armailhac, plums and blackcurrants show on the palate, with a degree of persistence and muscularity to the tannins. The finish lingers on a toasty creamy note of oak, showing real class and refinement.
