2009 Château Gazin, Pomerol

2009 Château Gazin, Pomerol

Gazin's vineyards are superbly situated, adjacent to Pétrus. Interesting on the nose, with notes of woodsmoke, concentrated black fruit and grilled herbs. Mouthfilling, with almost sugar-coated tannins, intense blueberry fruit and a long, dark chocolate finish. Was excellent last year, but this is bigger-boned and should be better in time.

Robert Parker: 94-96 points (Wine Advocate 188)
