Black cherry coloured core with a purple rim. Aromas and flavours of sweet macerated plums, spicy fruitcake notes but not raisined or overripe, rich and juicy thanks to fresh to moderate acidity. Well-integrated tannins are well hidden but give plenty of structure. The oak lends some toastiness to the dense, ripe fruit. Lingering savoury firm finish. Pure pleasure.
