Domaine de la Vougeraie
To manage 37 hectares within thirty different appellations through organic viticultural practices - including horse-drawn ploughing - is quite a challenge, but one that the team at Domaine de la Vougeraie revel in. This new domaine was founded as recently as 1999, bringing under a single roof a number of distinguished properties in the hands of the Boisset family. The domaine is located at Premaux south of Nuits-St-Georges, and the name derives from Jean-Claude Boisset's home near Vougeot. The team here encourages a maximum of lees contact as the wine rests in cask, only racking just prior to bottling, techniques which help to give Vougeraie’s unique style of fruit, weight and texture.
