SOLD OUT

2010 Hermitage Le Gréal, Marc Sorrel

Size: Case (6 Bottles - 75cl)

Wine currently held in transit or abroad. (Find out more about En Primeur)

The youngest vines used for this cuvée are 60-years-old and this old-vine fruit provides a delicious complexity to a tremendous Hermitage. The nose is intensely scented with notes of violet, pepper and damson fruit. These notes carry through onto the palate, where they are framed by fine-grained and supremely ripe tannins and a beautifully-freshening acidity. The finish is long and delicious, with more exotic notes of clove and dark chocolate coming through at the end. Incredibly fine, this should be an unmissable wine for any lover of Northern Rhône and Syrah.

2010 Hermitage Blanc Les Rocoules, Marc Sorrel

Size: Case (6 Bottles - 75cl)

Wine currently held in transit or abroad. (Find out more about En Primeur)

Like so many of the whites in this vintage, this is an absolute delight. Made predominantly from Marsanne and just 5% Roussanne, with no new oak utilised and bottled without filtration, the fruit characters are able to sing. Notes of lemon, pear and frangipane are vibrantly evident on the nose and palate. Rich and mouthfilling, but given backbone by zesty acidity and a steely minerality, this is at once appealing, restrained and great.

SOLD OUT

2010 Condrieu, Les Terrasses du Palat, François Villard

Size: Case (12 Bottles -75cl)

Wine currently held in transit or abroad. (Find out more about En Primeur)

This wine was made using a small amount of botrytised grapes (and aged in a little more new oak than Villard’s other white wines), which provide a very intense nose of citrus peel, apricot, peach and almond. On the palate, the texture is fresh, delicate and balanced with honey and nectarine leading to a long finish.

SOLD OUT

2010 Roussanne Vieilles Vignes, Château de Beaucastel

Size: Case (6 Bottles - 75cl)

Wine currently held in transit or abroad. (Find out more about En Primeur)

Produced from 101 year old vines, this is a voluptuous, magnificent wine whose creamy and fresh aromatics are delicately balanced with toasty oak nuances and crisp, stony minerality. Peach, quince and citrus blend with honey, beeswax and ginger to create a stunningly refined wine with fabulous weight and a spicy finish. Arguably the best white wine in the Southern Rhone, this will only improve with age. And it’s hard to improve on perfection.

2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Tradition, Domaine Clos du Mont Olivet

2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Tradition, Domaine Clos du Mont Olivet

Size: Case (12 Bottles -75cl)

This is a serious, fragrant wine, displaying pure rich fruit and exotic, peppery aromas. The palate is expressive, precise and elegant with lots of sweet cherry, raspberry fruit and Middle-Eastern spice. Grippy tannins and fresh acidity lead to an opulent finish that is long and complex with great balance and intensity. This is very impressive village Châteauneuf.

Vibrant on the nose, with notes of red berries, violets and spice. The palate is ripely rounded, tannins softly expressive and well-integrated. Layers of spiced red fruits are balanced by an attractive acidity. This is an appealing and excellent value Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The heady, perfumed nose of this excellent Châteauneuf-du-Pape has a lovely floral and flinty scent. On the palate, the pure, fresh fruit is beautifully expressive of La Crau style, where blackcurrant, cassis, damson and pepper marry together with very fine tannins and a taut structure. Hints of lavender and sweet spice on the finish; this is a ferocious wine yet expertly poised with a lovely density and freshness.
