The fine wine regions of France still, despite increased competition from the New World and other European regions, represent the pinnacle of fine wine production and tradition. As with any industry however, little remains static and even classic regions like Champagne, Bordeaux and Burgundy are constantly changing their approaches and priorities, embracing new production techniques, as well as international markets. Elsewhere, the Rhône and the Languedoc have enjoyed an unprecedented run of successful vintages, leading to some of their wines becoming highly sought after, while Alsace is becoming known for its organic and biodynamic wines.
