Méthode Traditionelle

Approximating to the system developed in Champagne to produce a bottle-fermented sparkling wine, Méthode Traditionelle is employed by top-class producers around the world. Bottle fermentation, with the extended contact between wine and yeast cells, endows a sparkling wine with complexity and depth of flavour and a fine mousse of bubbles.

Must Weight

The concentration of juice in a grape prior to harvest, measured in grammes per litre. Indicates the degree of sugar accumulation and therefore the alcoholic potential and/or the potential for sweetness. See our sweetness guide for more detail.
