Cellarage charges are raised each quarter. This confers a number of important benefits and will, at the same time, serve to limit possible increases in cellarage rates in the future. The cellarage amount due will be calculated per month.
The Benefits
- You will pay only for cellarage on wines currently in the cellar. You can withdraw your wines when you want, any time during the year, without penalty.
- Wines lying abroad (En Primeur) are not liable for cellarage.
- Cost is spread over the year
- Cellarage charges are raised in arrears.
- The cost of cellarage is spread over the year. Quarterly payments are easier to manage, especially if settled via Direct Debit or credit card mandate.
- Shipping notices will be combined with the cellarage invoice for the relevant quarter.
How does it work?
Quarterly invoicing is straightfoward and transparent. At the end of each calendar quarter, invoices will be raised for cellarage covering only wines in cellar during the preceeding three months. Where new wines have been added to the cellar, cellarage will be charged from the month of receipt. Likewise, where wines have been withdrawn, cellarage will be wiaved from the mnth the wine leaves the cellar. The annual Porfolio service fee will be included within the first quarter invoice.
How Much will you pay?
Rates will be calculated per case per month, the monthly rate being one twelth of the annual rate. The rate applicable to your wine cellar will be based on the number of cases in the cellar at the end of the preceding quarter. Insurance at full replacemnet cost is included within the cellarage rate.
How do you pay?
Quarterly cellarage charging makes sense and we believe 'hands-free' payment arrangements also make sense. most people today pay the majority of domestic bills via automated payment and we hope very much ath you will consider your quarterly cellarage invoices in the same way.
There are two options, via Direct Debit from a bank account or via a Credit/Debit Card mandate. Once your mandate is completed and processed, there is nothing for you to do - ever! - to settle your cellarage bills. And under the terms of the mandate you remain in total control over payments.
Is automated collection obligatory?
No, but it is by far the easiest way to enjoy the benefits of quarterly cellarage invoicing.
