2018 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Grosses Gewächs Alte Reben Réserve, Dr Loosen, Mosel Dry | White | Still

One of Loosen and the Mosel’s greatest vineyard sites on rich blue slate soil. (The Sundial of Wehlen) is a precipitously steep and rocky vineyard that yields wines with a lively mineral character and a delicate, zingy acidity that perfectly complements the expression of white peach and lemon fruits on the palate. The 24 months ageing gives the wine amazing complexity and length.

2020 Anseillan, Château Lafite-Rothschild Dry | Red | Still | 13%

Grapes for Anseillan are from a specific lieu-dit in the Lafite estate, and it is produced in the capable hands of the Lafite teams, in the Lafite cellars. This 2020 is the third official release, but the team have long singled out this part of the vineyard and bottled it as a unique wine for family consumption. It's full of blackberry, damson and plum fruit, with graphite, roasted coffee and tobacco providing earthy complexity. It shows the balance and purity of the vintage, with an appetising mineral lift on the finish.

2023 Clos des Lunes, 'Lune d'Argent' Grand Vin Blanc Sec Dry | White | Still | 13%

The 2023 Lune d’Argent from the Bernard family of Domaine de Chevalier is an aromatic and full-flavoured reflection of some of Bordeaux’s finest terroirs. Sourced from 35 year old vines that neighbour the vineyards of Châteaux d’Yquem and Guiraud, this is always a lot of wine for your money. Gravel soils in Sauternes and Bommes provide power and freshness, while alluvial soils in Barsac lend the wine a unique minerality. Textured, zingy, and utterly delicious, the 2023 Lune d’Argent is an absolute bargain.

2023 Château Marjosse, Bordeaux Dry | Red | Still | 14.5%

Pierre Lurton and the team at Château Marjosse place aromatic purity and the expression of fruit at the heart of their winemaking. The team eschews the use of new oak, instead preferring used 400 litre barrels that allow the aromatic, floral, cherry-fruited nature of the wine to take centre stage. In 2023, the quality of the Cabernets was excellent and forms a higher part of the blend (40%) than in previous vintages. This is always friendly, delicious, and one of Bordeaux’s great values.
